ワシントン（ＣＮＮ） トランプ米大統領の就任などに反発する「ワシントン女性行進」の主催者は１６日までに、来月８日に「女性のいない１日」とするゼネストを実施すると発表した。同日は「国際女性デー」に当たる。
ゼネストの計画は先に発表されていたが、実施日には触れていなかった。主催者はインスタグラム上で「愛と解放のため団結して集まる女性と志を同一にする仲間の精神を尊重して、我々は女性のいない１日を提供する」と強調した。
ワシントン女性行進はトランプ大統領就任の翌日に実施され、全米各都市で１００万人以上の参加者を集めていた。行進の主催者は社会変革の達成を図るさらなる行動への草の根レベルの支持を伝えるため「最初の１００日間における１０の行動計画」も打ち出していた。トランプ大統領が公約した、就任から最初の１００日間での主要な施策発表を揶揄（やゆ）した対応策となっている。
主催者はインスタグラムへの投稿で「我々は今年１月に数百万人が立ち上がった時に起きたことを目撃した。愛を尊ぶ勢力は恐怖、貪欲（どんよく）や憎悪の勢力よりはるかに多数である」と主張した。
来月８日のゼネストの詳細には触れなかったが、ソーシャルメディアで今後明らかにするとしている。
